Karl Johnny Hersvik

Karl Johnny Hersvik is Chief Executive Officer of Aker BP, Norway's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production company. He became CEO in 2014 and has transformed the company through strategic acquisitions and operational excellence, including the landmark merger with Lundin Energy in 2022 that created a leading Nordic E&P company. Hersvik has championed digitalization and operational efficiency, positioning Aker BP as an industry leader in low-carbon production with some of the lowest CO2 emissions per barrel globally. He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Economics from the Norwegian Institute of Technology and began his career at McKinsey & Company before joining the energy sector.
